Course Description

Are you planning to visit Israel? (God willing, after Covid19) Have you always wanted to understand the prayers, share what your kids are learning at school and enjoy Israeli movies?

Studying Hebrew will give you the key to connect with the vibrant modern life in Israel as well as with our cultural past, prayers and traditions. The fundamental language skills: (reading, writing and communicating), the basic grammatical structures and a vocabulary related to daily life will be introduced by interactive learning methods. In the selected texts you will discover the strong relation between the classical sources and the constantly renovating “start-up nation “ language spoken nowadays by millions of people in Israel and all around the world.  You now have an opportunity to join them. No prior knowledge of Hebrew is required.

About the Instructor:
 

Ms. Henie Hajdenberg, is currently a lecturer of Hebrew Language at the University of Miami and the former Dean of Mijlelet Shazar, the Hebrew Teachers College in Buenos Aires. She studied in Buenos Aires and at the Tel Aviv University, where she specialized in Hebrew Language and Literature. She has authored numerous publications  including Sifrut Yafah - Hebrew Literature for Middle and High School,  Keneged Kulam: Pedagogies of the Talmud, The  Mystical World of Rabbi Nachmann of Braslav and Lengua de Tierra (an anthology of Israeli contemporary stories).
