Together, we will explore how Rabbinical authorities today build on the decisions of their predecessors to apply Jewish law to modern issues, challenges and ideas.
Course Description :
There is an abundance of Jewish laws in our Torah about how to conduct business, and these laws are constantly updated by rabbinic responses to modern questions. Is it okay to have two competing businesses in the same town? Are there ethics for online shopping? When is it not okay to compare prices? What does Jewish law say about intellectual property? Corporate responsibility? Ecological impact? Over the course of 4 weeks we will explore how Rabbinical authorities today build on the decisions of their predecessors to apply Jewish law to modern issues, challenges and ideas.
