- 1 Macabees 3:19

Course Description :

Explore one of the leading books of the apocryphal as we investigate how Jews survived the dominant Greek culture and were able to maintain their own Jewish culture despite the anti-Jewish laws, and massive assimilation established by the Greeks. The book of Maccabees reveals the startling account of what life was like for the Jews under Selucid rulers after the death of Alexander the Great. The book reveals how Hellenized Jews and religious Jews clashed over assimilation to Greek way of life versus keeping true to Torah. Be among the very few Jews who have ever read or studied the Books of Maccabee I & II.
