Course Description:

For thousands of years, Jews have turned to sacred words, protective rituals, amulets, pilgrimages, and mystical traditions to navigate danger, invite blessing, and make sense of the unseen. This three-part course explores the rich world of Jewish magic—from ancient incantation bowls and biblical prophecy to Sephardic folk practices, Ashkenazi ghost stories, and modern cultural expressions. Together, we’ll trace how curses, cures, angels, demons, names, and holy objects became part of Jewish life across continents and centuries, revealing a vibrant supernatural tradition that continues to enchant.
