“David, Melech Yisrael, Chai V’Kayam!” — David, King of Israel, lives on.
Course Description:
Shepherd. Giant-Killer. Warrior. Bandit. King. Poet. Lover. Sinner. Ancestor of Messiah.
No figure in Tanakh is as dramatic, complex, or beloved as King David—mentioned over 1,000 times, more than anyone else in the Bible. His life has it all: heroism, political intrigue, forbidden love, profound faith, and heartbreaking failure.
In this course, we’ll explore the many faces of David: the fearless youth who defeated Goliath, the fugitive who became a folk hero, the flawed king whose poetry still shapes Jewish prayer, and the sinner whose Teshuvah set the standard for generations.
Larger than life yet deeply human, David’s story reads like an epic novel—except every word is part of our sacred history.
Come discover why we still proclaim:
“David, Melech Yisrael, Chai V’Kayam!” — David, King of Israel, lives on.
