"The Day of Judgement will not come about until Moslems fight and kill the Jews. When the Jew hides behind stones and trees, the stones and trees will say. ‘O Moslems, O Servant of God, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him!’"
– Hamas Charter, 1988
Course Description :
How did hatred of Jews develop in the Muslim world? In this urgent course, Dr. Bella Tendler Krieger traces the complex relationship between Islam and Judaism — from Muhammad’s lifetime through centuries of Islamic rule to the rise of modern extremist movements. In this two-week mini-course, we’ll explore religious teachings, historical shifts, and the political forces that fueled this enduring struggle.
Come ready to challenge assumptions and deepen your understanding of one of history’s most critical — and misunderstood — conflicts.
