Poo Poo Poo, Bite Your Tongue! Bubbemeises, Kinahora & The Evil Eye

Course Description:

Are Jews superstitious? Well, we won’t say yes (we don’t want to jinx it). From spitting three times (poo poo poo) to tying red strings around wrists and whispering kinahora every five minutes, Jewish culture has no shortage of quirky customs meant to ward off bad luck, bad vibes, and bad in-laws.

In this highly non-cursed course, we’ll take a lighthearted look at the charms, taboos, and time-honored traditions that make up the wonderfully superstitious side of Jewish life. Come for the folklore, stay for the magical thinking—just don’t forget to bring your hamsa.

WEDNESDAYS, 12:00-1:30pm (ET)
